BIOGRAPHY

Edgar Keuling has for more than  fifty years expressed ,in abstract expressionistic style ,his view of reality.  Starting at age fifteen, Edgar conveyed his  image using thick-texture oil applied to canvas with a painting knife.  His work today is still characterized by this technique.  The thick structure of his canvas is bolstered by the complex use of vivid colors. His canvases put forth amazing combinations of vibrant  color.  Edgar has indeed mastered the art of abstract expressionism.  His canvas balances just the right amount of image and abstract color to give the viewer a frame of reference.  And once attached to the image, the viewer completes the canvas and abstracts their personal message. Through the years Edgar's paintings have been complex, yet fun to view.

Edgar's painting style has been influenced by Van Gogh, Neiman, Sargent and Simbari.  He has also studied with and been influenced by Cuban and South American painters.  Edgar's work, first shown as a one-man show in 1970, has wide distribution in the United States and South America.

While his paintings over the years have embraced many topics, Edgar favors mediterranean landscapes, seascapes and city compositions.  Edgar's

creative processes are in full bloom, and if the colors of his paintings are any indication, his creative instincts will continue to shine ever so brightly.
